Registration

  • This ticket is only available to financial members of the AIP. Members will need to log in to your membership profile to register for a free ticket.
  • This ticket type is for non-members and free Student Associate members to attend.
  • This ticket type is by invitation only.
  • This ticket type is for students wishing to present either a 3 Minute Thesis, oral, or poster presentation. You MUST include an abstract for your registration to be accepted. Please be sure to upload your abstract in "Firstname_Secondname initial.pdf" format when registering to avoid having your registration cancelled.

The 2025 WA Student Conference is open to undergraduate, honours, masters and PhD students undertaking courses in physics from universities across WA.

The conference offers opportunities to showcase your research, and network with industry partners, peers and experts in the field. Awards for the best 3-minute thesis (3MT), talks and posters will be presented.

Registration is required for this event and places are limited. Three ticket types are available to students:

  1. FREE registration for students presenting a talk or poster
  2. FREE registration for financial AIP members
  3. Registration for non-members*^ - $50

Students wishing to give a presentation must register, including submitting a 1 page abstract (pdf), by 31 October. Students will be notified by 11 November if their abstract has been accepted.

*We strongly encourage students to become financial members of the AIP.  Fees for full-time students for 2025 are only $30! From 1 November students can join for membership to the end of 2026 for only $50. More information on how to join is available here. 

^Cancellations made at least 3 days before the event are eligible for a refund of fees paid less a $10 processing fee. Cancellations after this date are not eligible for a refund.
