    The NSW AIP Branch would like to invite you to attend the  2021 Annual Postgraduate Awards event on Tuesday 9 November 2021 which will be held by Zoom from 2:00pm.

    The attached awards day program includes the abstracts and times of all the presenters for the upcoming event. The presenters are asked to make a 15-minute zoom presentation on their postgraduate research in Physics, and the presentation will be judged on the criteria (1) content and scientific quality, (2) clarity and (3) presentation skills as included in the judges’ criteria.

    Each presenter will have the opportunity to compete for the AIPNSW Postgraduate medal and the RSNSW Jak Kelly prize.

    Now Finalised for 2021.

    Do you know someone in New South Wales who is doing great physics outreach and education? Nominate them for the 2021 NSW AIP Community Outreach Award.

    Nominations close Friday 8 October 2021.

    This Award will acknowledge someone with a record of outreach and physics education and has demonstrated passion for the study of physics in New South Wales.

Exploring major discoveries and theories in physics, mathematics, biology and chemistry at this year’s combined AIP, TGNSW and RACI meeting. Please refer to the flyer as registration is necessary for attendance. FLYER

  • April 26, 27 , 28. AIPNSW WIP Lecture Series, Venue: Sydney and Wollongong. Speaker A/Prof Susanna Guatelli. Two Public Lectures. One at Wollongong Space Centre – bookings at 6: 00 pm on 26 April. Also at Macquarie University on Tues 27 April at 6:00 pm – Bookings. The topic is: Title: Radiation protection of astronauts in human missions to Mars: simulation and reality.
  • August 17. Einstein Lecture. Digital event from UNSW. 

    The Race to Mars  - Intro by Dr Graeme Melville (UNSW) with twin lectures by Prof Iver Cairns (USyd) on how 'Space Weather' will affect any journey to Mars with A/Prof Susanna Guatelli (UWollongong) talking about the latest research on biological radiation hazards that astronauts will be subjected to.                                                                               To watch go to link.
