Manufacturing the Future – Queensland

June 18 @ 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Manufacturing in Australia must adapt to the challenges and opportunities presented by new technologies, digitalisation, global competition and changing markets. CSIRO Futures published a roadmap for the Advanced Manufacturing sector in November 2016, endorsed by the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre. The Queensland Government released a Queensland specific Advance Manufacturing roadmap in December 2016. These roadmaps identify the developments in science and technology that will enable the sector to meet the challenges and benefit from the opportunities. They are well aligned with the capabilities of CSIRO.

This event will present CSIRO’s Advanced Manufacturing Roadmap in Brisbane and the Queensland Government’s Advance Manufacturing Roadmap in Toowoomba and Townsville. In addition, an overview of CSIRO’s manufacturing research capabilities, information on the enabling science and technologies that are transforming the sector, and the assistance that is available through the Entrepreneurs’ Programme, Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre and the Innovative Manufacturing CRC, will be presented.

The Queensland Government are presenting in place of the CSIRO futures team at Toowoomba and Townsville and we need to acknowledge their roadmap in the workshop introduction text.

About the Entrepreneurs’ Programme

The Entrepreneurs’ Programme is the Australian Government’s Flagship initiative for business competitiveness and productivity at the firm level. It forms part of the Australian Government’s new industry policy outlined in the National Innovation and Science Agenda.
